our story
It all started with a virtual school schedule – literally. No grand plan, no big idea. As many mothers did, I prepared my children for virtual learning during the Covid-19 pandemic and I had written a schedule that consisted of Yoga of course! As I struggled to find children’s yoga instructors who looked like us, my passion for Yoga and the innate realization that there is a great need for representation in this field led me to be the change. I immediately rolled out my mat, signed up for a Children’s Yoga Training, and Our Movement Yoga™ was born.

Our Vision
We envision a space where youth of every hue can move freely in community and see themselves in one another. Our Movement Yoga™ expands the idea of what yoga is and is not. Our inclusive wellness community of youth along with their families is empowered through mindfulness & movement. Our Movement.

our Founder
Hi, I’m Tanya! the founder and owner of Our Movement Yoga™. I am a family yoga and mindfulness teacher and mother of two little yogis.
My mission is to bring yoga and mindfulness into the homes of families with diverse backgrounds.
I have personally practiced yoga for more than 20 years and I am a certified Children’s Yoga Teacher (CYT). As a yoga teacher, I meet my students where they are in their practice, actively working to create an environment where exploration and curiosity are possible.
When not teaching or practicing yoga, I enjoy traveling to sun-filled destinations with my husband Justin, getting creative with our daughter, Olivia, and watching Philadelphia sports with our son, Ellis.
